Alnwick Castle
Decorated and furnished by the Fourth Duke in the mid 19th Century, the rooms are a splendid example of Italian Renaissance design, with carved and guilded ceilings, marble fireplaces, and walls hung with paintings by Canaletto, Van Dyck and Titian.
Adding to the magic of this Castle and family home is its use as a location for the films ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’.
With a unique blend of children’s activities, history, art, landscape, special events, dining and shopping – as a day out with the children this magnificent medieval Castle really offers something that can only be described as very special.
