How do I register?

Simply fill in your contact details following the link from How to Advertise and provide an email address and telephone number. Once you have registared your details, you will be taken through to a page where you will fill in your property details.

Can I advertise more than one property with you?

Of course – If the properties are on the same site and they share the same facilities such as a swimming pool, they can be advertised on the same page. However if the properties are in different locations or say one is a Bed & Breakfast and the other is a self-catering then they need to be listed as seperate properties. The reason for this is that visitors to the site may be looking for a particular type of accommodation and if you list two different types of accommodation in a single listing then the search engine may not pick up one of your properties. The second property and subsequent properties will be at the discounted rate.

If you do have more that one property at a single location but still wish to advertise them as individual properties you can with the subsequent properties attracting a discount.

How do you promote the site to attract visitors?

The site is registered with the various serach engines, and during the first half of the year we will be undertaking an extensive national advertising campaign to direct visitors to the site, this will be supported with further public relations and advertising campaigns throughout the year. As the site develops we will be linking into other regional marketing campaigns and looking to proactively market the site via key business operators in the regiona including transport providers.

As a new site we are aware of the need to be proactive in raising the profile of the site and bringing it up in teh search engines.

How do I pay for the advert?

The advert is paid for via paypal which is a simple to use and secure method of payment. For ease of use the payment is divided into monthly installments, the advantage of this is should you wish to stop advertising with us or you sell the business you can stop the monthly payments with immediate effect.

What happens if I have problems downloading an image?

Don’t worry. First check the image size is not too large; it may need re-sizing. If this doesn’t recity the problem checked the images have been stored as jpegs, this is the preferred format for downloading images. If you are still experiencing problems, you can send us the photograph and we will scan it in for you, however we cannot be responsible if the image is lost or damaged in the process or in transit.
OR if you prefer just call us and we will try and sort it out for.

I don't have any good quality photographs of my property

Don’t worry, just let us know and we will arrange for someone to call and take some photographs of the property for a small fee and supply the images to you on a CD.

If someone books with me do I pay commision?

Absolutely not, the annual fee paid is the only fee you pay to Holidays in Northumberland. If you receive a booking as a result of Holidays in Northumberland the contract is between you and visitor, and you should deal directly at all times with the visitor.

Who manages and amends my advert?

Once you have registered on the site only you will have access to your advert via the Advertisement Manager and your personal password.
You will be responsible for updating your own advert and availability calender, which we advise you do on a regular basis. You can go in and include special offers at different times of the year and update photographs whenever you wish.

Why should I advertise on your site?

Holidays in Northumberland was developed by an owner who has extensive knowledge of tourism in the region, employing only local people who have extensive knowledge of visitor trends and business needs in the region. This site aims to bring together the most comprehensive selection and range of accommodation business in the region, aimed at keeping the visitor at one site and interested in the area.
The site is open to inspected and non inspected accommodation providers in the region, and with the active marketing campaign.

If you take a years advertising on the site during 2008/09 you will automatically be included in the 2010 accommodation guide, this will be featured on the home page of the site and featured in all the advertising campaigns undertaken in the lead up to the 2010 season.
